It is time once again to Step Up to the Plate for ALS. This year will be the 4th year for this fun-food-inspired event. We took a year off because of the passing of our dear friend Bob Willson on May 17, 2010. Bob was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral scierosis), also known as Lou Gehrigs disease, in September 2007. ALS is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. It affects roughly one in 100,000 Americans.
In July of 2010 Proje5t for ALS was founded to continue Bob's vision of finding a cure for this unthinkable disease. The mission of Project 5 is to improve the lives of people with this neurodegenerative disorder by promoting collaborative, translation research with real potential to help find a cure for ALS.
Inspired by those fighting the disease, and in memory of loved ones who have lost their battle against ALS, this year’s chairs and co-chairs hope you will join us for an evening of hope and assist us in spreading the word among the generous and philanthropic hearts of our community.
This years theme is "Soul to Sole". Come savor local flavors from top local KC chefs while feasting your eyes on the hottest shoes of the season. We are hoping you can join us that evening! Tickets will be $100 per person.
