Step Up to the Plate for ALS

“Step Up to the Plate for ALS” began three years ago as a private fund raiser for the Keith Worthington Chapter preceding the annual ALS Walk. Lindsey Bjorseth Serrano, an ALS Board Member whose grandfather died of ALS, was inspired to create a social event that would raise awareness for the cause among her friends and family in Kansas City.

Inspired by those fighting the disease, and in memory of loved ones who have lost their battle against ALS, this year’s chairs and co-chairs hope you will join us for an evening of hope and assist us in spreading the word among the generous and philanthropic hearts of our community.

All of the proceeds from this year’s event will go directly to the local Keith Worthington Chapter of the ALS Association. Kansas City’s ALS Walk will take place on October 17, 2009. For more information, go to the local chapter’s website at www.alsa-midwest.org.

In our third year, Joe and Misty Fridkin and Lindsey and Joe Serrano have joined forces and stepped things up to a new venue downtown! We’re delighted to bring a culinary “twist” to this year’s party, so save room on your plate for this year’s party. We hope you will join our families and friends and “Step Up To The Plate” in honor of a great cause – ALS.

For 2009, Prudential Kansas City has joined forced with numerous other teams including Golson’s Greyhounds (individual), Lathrop and Gage (corporate), and LeAnne Miller Norem (individual) to collaborate on an even better and bigger party to raise money for the ALS Walk taking place on September 20th.
